Whale watching boat trips in Hermanus, South Africa

The marvellously pretty seaside town of Hermanus is situated in the Western Cape of South Africa (a short drive of 90mins from Cape Town) and boasts some of the most beautiful beaches, mountains, wine regions and coastal scenery in the world.

The Southern Right Whales migrate to these waters from their Antarctic feeding areas to breed, care for their young and play in our shallow waters of Walker Bay, Hermanus for 6 months every year, from July to December. The sight of these massive, gentle and inquisitive creatures relaxing and displaying to one another (and us humans) is truly exhilarating for everyone – and for those that love nature it is a complete mind-blower :-)

Whale watching from the land is great as the cliffs are vertical into the sea and thus allowing the Whales to come in very close to the shore – Whale Watching Land-Based Walking Tours are available so that you are able to explore the hidden coves and inlets that the Whales love to laze about in. Your experienced Whale Tour Guide will introduce you to these gems, while you take loads of close-up photos and videos of these incredible encounters.
